Green bio-synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Ziziphora tenuior L Water Extract

Different biological methods are gaining recognition for the production of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) due to their multiple applications. The use of plants in the synthesis of nanoparticles emerges as a cost effective and eco-friendly approach. In the present study, the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by using Ziziphora tenuior L of water extraction was carried out. For this purpose the wa...

Bioinspired Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles

Disease-causing microbes that have become resistant to drug therapy are an increasing public health problem. Therefore there is an urgent need to develop new bactericides. Silver nanoparticles are the metal of choice as they hold the promise to kill microbes effectively. Silver nanoparticles take advantages of the oligodynamic effect that silver has on microbes. In this work we have synthesized...

Yeast Mediated Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles

A green low-cost and reproducible yeast mediated synthesis of silver nanoparticles is reported. The synthesis is performed at room temperature. X-ray and transmission electron microscopy analyses are performed to ascertain the formation of Ag nanoparticles. Nanoparticles almost spherical in shape having a size of 6-20 nm are found.

Bio-synthesis of magnetite nanoparticles by bacteria

A promising avenue of research in materials science is to follow the strategies used by Mother Nature to fabricate ornate hierarchical structures as exemplified by organisms such as diatoms, sponges and magnetotactic bacteria. Some of the strategies used in the biological world to create functional inorganic materials may well have practical implications in the world of nanomaterials. The aim o...

Chemo/bio-sensor networks.

The concept of wireless sensor networks conjures up images of a world of ubiquitous sensing, but it requires a massive increase in the number of sensors available. Although there has been considerable activity in transducer-based 'sensor nets', there have been virtually no corresponding deployments of chemical- or biological-sensing networks - considerable advances in materials science are need...
